'Or so they say'... of birds and worms.
Encouraging you to get up, to get going, they say, ‘it’s the early bird that catches the worm’. True enough, early birds reap rewards, only it is wise to remember that ‘it’s the early worm that’s eaten by the bird'. Occasionally it might be worth checking if we are we the early bird or the worm?
Often, the first soldier shot in war, at least historically, would be an infantryman advancing in line formation; he had little choice but to be a worm. In the 21st century, the choice, most often, is ours to make.
Choose with care and you will be well fed; fail, and you will be someone's meal.
